How pages get written and corrected

The standards this site holds itself to, including the ones that stop a page from being published at all.

Independence

No provider, advertiser or referral partner has any input into which pages get written, what they say, or when they publish. No page is sponsored. No placement is paid for. Nothing on this site is submitted to a provider for approval before or after publication. The commercial model is described in full on how we make money, including the fact that no referral link is live yet.

What blocks publication

These are hard gates, not aspirations. A page that fails any of them does not go up:

  • No source, no claim.Anything about a legal requirement needs a government source. Anything about what a policy covers needs the policy form or the provider's own documentation. Every citation carries the date it was read.
  • No invented figures. No made up price ranges, no testimonials, no “operators report” without a retrievable source. Where the data does not exist, the page says so instead of filling the hole.
  • No recommendation language. Pages describe what providers publish and what rules say. They do not tell a reader what to buy, which provider is best, or what is right for their business. This is enforced against a written list of prohibited phrasings before anything merges.
  • A named gap section.Every coverage page states what the coverage does not do. A page that only lists benefits is incomplete by this site's standard.
  • A byline. Every page names the person responsible for it.

How comparisons work

When this site compares providers, the method is fixed in advance and stated on the page before the table:

  • Only published facts. What each provider's own documentation says, with a source link and retrieval date for every cell.
  • Alphabetical order, never rank order. There is no scoring, no rating, no badge and no winner. A ranked list of insurance providers is a recommendation wearing a table, and this site does not make recommendations.
  • A stated commercial relationship. If this site has, or could have, a referral arrangement with a provider being compared, that is disclosed on the page. This site never presents itself as independent of a relationship that exists.
  • Description, never accusation. Where a provider's documentation is silent on something, the page records that it was not found on the pages reviewed on that date, which is a different claim from saying the provider does not offer it.

Review by a licensed agent

Pages that carry a referral link are held to an additional standard: review by an agent holding a property and casualty license, shown on the page with their name, license number and the date of review. Their role is limited to verifying that the general content is accurate. They do not quote, do not answer individual questions and are not a commercial contact.

No reviewer is in place as of July 26, 2026. That is precisely why no page here carries a referral link yet, and why the cost and provider comparison pages are written but unpublished. The standard came first and the pages wait for it.

Updates and corrections

When a page is materially corrected, the correction is noted on the page rather than silently swapped in, and the update date changes. Cosmetic edits do not reset the date, because a freshness signal that can be faked is worth nothing.

An honest note about response times. This site is run by one person and is not staffed continuously. There are stretches of several weeks where nothing is monitored and a correction will not be acted on quickly. Rather than publish a service commitment that cannot be kept, the state of things is stated plainly: corrections are made when the site is next worked on, and pages are dated so a reader can always see how old the underlying reading is.

What this site will not do

  • Answer questions about an individual's coverage or policy.
  • Quote, estimate or calculate a premium.
  • Rank, score or recommend a provider.
  • Publish a testimonial, a case study or a user review. There are no real ones, and inventing them is out of the question.
  • Promise savings, or claim a price is the cheapest or the lowest.
  • Collect information about a reader or their business.

How every figure is verified is described on methodology. Who writes the site is on about.
